SVP Christmas Food Appeal & Ryan Tubridy

Hello Everyone

Christmas is just around the corner. This year is going to be a lot harder on people that before with so many people losing their jobs, homes and with things getting harder with budget coming up. Your help is needed this year more than ever. This year Ryan Tubridy and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul are working together to make sure that no child is without a toy this Christmas morning. Not only do they need toy’s they also need food. How can you help? You can buy a toy and drop it off at one of the drop off points. There are lots to be done so PLEASE, PLEASE get involved now and don’t leave it to someone else. If you cannot afford to buy something you can give a little of your time to help out.

Thank You and Happy Christmas

Food Appeal Guideline Reach Out & Give the Gift of a Brighter Christmas

You can help people in need in your community this Christmas by supporting the SVP Christmas Food Appeal and providing festive foods for underprivileged children and adults.

By participating in the Christmas Food Appeal and donating non-perishable festive food items, you’ll be helping families and individuals enjoy a special Christmas meal. In addition, by providing food to eat over the Christmas and New Year period you’ll also be easing some of their financial burden. Food items will be distributed out to the many underprivileged children and families through our network of local conferences and volunteers.

How the SVP Christmas Food Appeal Works

Our Christmas Food Appeal is simple. We can also provide you with posters to advertise the Christmas Food Appeal.

1. Prepare Your Shopping List & Purchase Your Selected Festive Food Items

Suggested shopping items:

Treats:
• Christmas Cake/Pudding
• Christmas Selection boxes
• Biscuits
• Chocolate
• Mince Pies
• Crisps
• Popcorn
• Sweets
• Turkey/Ham voucher

• Festive Table napkins

SVP Week takes place from December 5th-12th, culminating with SVP Sunday on December 12th.

SVP helps individuals and families who are struggling to cope, often to ensure that there is light in the home and food on the table. Our 9,500 volunteers in 1,200 local groups across the country give their time freely so that the donations you make can go straight to the people who need help the most in your local community.

I will be talking to Ryan Tubridy live on the radio on Tuesday 30th morning and I will be plugging any of the business’s that are helping us out.
