RTÉ Radio 1 – Networking Event

RTÉ Radio 1’s The Business is staging a networking event in Athlone on May 5th.The show’s presenter, George Lee will be speaking at the event, as will Pat McDonagh, the founder of Supermacs. He will be talking about how to run a business in recessionary times.

As well as the headline speeches, there will also be business speed dating, to give everyone in the room a chance to make new contacts.

George Lee said : “It’s really important for the team and myself to hear how local businesses are getting on and to learn about the issues they face on a daily basis. Since I’ve started presenting The Business, I’ve been inspired and impressed by the attitude of business people all over the country and their ability to keep going in these tough times. These are the people that will get our economy moving again. We’re also hoping to meet lots of businesses that we can profile on the programme in the future.”

It’s the second networking event that The Business has hosted in an effort to connect companies small and large around the country. The previous event in Limerick was a big success. It sparked off many new connections and business deals. Also a number of the companies that George and the programme team networked with that evening, featured on the programme subsequently.

The event will be taking place in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Athlone between 7.00 and 8.30pm. Admission is free and all are very welcome.
