  • Dé Céadoin 16th Céilí in Parish Hall 8-10pm
  • 9.30 – 11.30 Seisiún Amhránaíochta – Traditional Singing in the Heritage Centre with it’s wonderful acoustics. Come along and sing a song in English or Irish.
  • Déardaoin 17th Léacht Logainmneacha Laoise – a talk on the placenames of Laois in the Heritage Centre at 8pm by Tom Cox
  • Dé hAoine 18th Official Opening of the Laois Fleadh in the Heritage Centre followed by Session of Music, Song and Dance
  • Dé Sathairn 19th Comórtais: Banna Céilí, Grúpaí Ceoil and Rince all competitions will be held in Community Centre commencing at 11am Saturday evening at 7pm will see the dancing competitions in the Community Centre.
  • Dé Domhnaigh 20th Fleadh Mass at 10 am
  • Comórtais: 11.00 am
  • Solo Competitions will be held in various venues around the village:
  • Scoil Bhríde, Fr. Shorthall Room, Parish Hall, Heritage Centre, Old Boys’ School
  • See the Marching Bands
  • Face Painting
  • Gig Rig featuring local musicians and competition winne
  • Seomra na Gaeilge – practice your cupla focal!
  • Open Air Set Dancing in the Square
  • Presentation of Trophies in the Heritage Centre at 5pm
  • “Coppers and Brass” programme will be broadcast live on Radio 3 from the Heritage Centre between 6 and 8 pm

Westmeath County Fleadh 1st, 2nd and 3rd June

Friday 1 June:

  • Set & Figure Dancing Competitions,
  • Ballymore Community Centre. 7.30pm

Saturday 2nd June:

  • Fleadh Charity Concert and Sean Nós Dancing Competitions,
  • Ballymore Community Centre, 8pm

The night will open with the Sean Nós Dancing Competitions for all age groups, followed by our Fleadh Concert which will commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Ballymore Comhaltas. The Concert will incorporate a Sean Nós Dancing MasterClass given by All-Ireland Champion and All-Ireland Talent Show Runner-up Emma O’Sullivan (Connemara). The Concert will feature musicians, singers, dancers and storyteller from the recent Comhaltas Tour of North America including Conor Moriarty, All-Ireland Accordion & Melodian Champion (Kerry), Rhona Lynch, Fiddler of Dooney Champion

(Offaly) and Breda Shannon, All-Ireland Concertina Champion (Roscommon). We will also have a host of local artists portraying the rich tradition of Westmeath music and dancing.  Proceeds on the night will go to South Westmeath Hospice and St. Vincent de Paul.

Sunday 3rd June:

  • Fleadh Mass
  • Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Ballymore 11.30am. This special mass will be in memory of the deceased members of Ballymore Comhaltas, and will commemorate the 25th Anniversary of our Branch.
  • Music, Singing & Comhrá Gaeilge Competitions Scoil Eoin Naofa, Ballymore 1.30pm

Portarlington CCÉ

SCT Music Grades take place  with over 100 young musicians taking the exam.

Portarlington CCÉ End of Year Concert takes place in the Boy’s Primary School Hall on Friday 29th June 8.00pm. All music classes will make their contribution on the night. No admission

Annual Music Marathon Saturday 30th June 9th in SuperValu, Portarlington, 10.00am. Monies collected on the day donated to local charities.

Portarlington CCÉ will host a number of sessions during the months of June – August, dates and venues will be advertised and all musicians, singers & dancers are very welcome

We propose to host a number of mini workshops over the summer months, specialising on individual instruments each day. The activity will focus on the needs of junior & intermediate pupils only.
