Martin Connolly is  highly regarded as an accordion maker, musician and accordion teacher.
A native  of Killaloe, Co. Clare, he now resides in Ennis, Co. Clare. Martin grew up in a  house
where music was a major part of everyday life. Martin has  traveled extensively in Europe,
Canada and the USA performing and teaching. In  1995 he had the honour of representing
Ireland at the Carrefour Mondial de  L’Accordéon, World Accordion Festival in Quebec,
Canada. Martins talents were not confined  to performing and teaching. From an early age
he took an interest in the  mechanics of the accordion. He set up his own tuning and repair
business after  learning most of the skills from Nils Nielson who was regarded by many as
being  “the only one to tune a box”.   After returning from Quebec in 1995 Martin began
designing and making his first accordion which was completed in March 1996.
Today these handmade accordions are many musicians first choice and their
popularity are increasing worldwide.Martin has made two recordings over the years and has
produced a CD for his son Damien

Eileen O’ Brien

Eileen’s late mother was a member of the Seery family from Milltown, Rathconrath, Mullingar. Her mother Eileen
Seery was a noted singer in her day. Eileen’s uncle, Sean Seery(piper) and grandfather Jim Seery
(fiddle player)
were both founder members of Comhaltas  Ceoltoiri Eireann. Eileen is an All-Ireland champion in both senior fiddle
and  senior fiddle slow airs. She is also a composer and some of her compositions  have been recorded by the artists
John Carty and The Kane  Sisters. Eileen has recorded three albums to date “Newtown Bridge” 1999, “The Fidler’s
Choice” 2005 and her new album “Aon le hAon” 2012 She has produced two books of music “The compositions of Paddy
O’Brien” 1999 and “The Definite Collection of the Music of Paddy O’Brien”  2009 Both with J.D.C Publications Eileen has
performed in many  countries, U.S.A Europe, China, Russia, Australia and New Zealand. She is a  highly respected teacher
and has influenced many aspiring fiddle players. At  present Eileen is a tutor at the I.W.A.M.D at the University of Limerick where
she teaches students undertaking both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.  She has performed with many great
names over the years like Bobby Gardiner, Joe  Burke, Ann Conroy- Burke, Martin Connolly,Jimmy McGreevy, Deirdre McSherry,
Martin & Seamus Connolly, Mary & Andrew McNamara, Geraldine & Eamon  Cotter, Catherine McEvoy and many more.

Deirdre McSherry is from outside Nenagh, Co.  Tipperary, and has been playing music with Eileen O’Brien for many years. She is
highly regarded in traditional music circles for her piano accompaniment, and is  also a noted flute player. She plays the Boehm
system of flute, which allows her  to match Eileen note for note. Her piano accompaniment is light and lively, and  adds an extra
sparkle to any melody instrument she accompanies.
