The 3rd Annual MidlandsIreland.ie Best in Business Awards held in the Tullamore Court Hotel hosted some of the best businesses and business people from Laois, Offaly, Westmeath and Longford. This years event boasted two Mullingar based companies who had been nominated for two prestigious awards in their respective categories.
Retail Excellence Award – Red Earth
Jackie and Tony Collins came away with the top prize in the “Retail Excellence Award” category on Friday night. Red Earth caters for customer’s creativity, intelligence and individuality through a range of different products such as home interiors, Kitchenware, fashion and accessories and artisan food products. Red earth also offers some exquisite food from their brilliant restaurant catering for breakfast, lunch and evening meals.

Outstanding Business Award – Green Farm Foods
Kenneth Green’s, Green Farm Foods scooped the top spot for the “Outstanding Business Award” category. Green Farm Foods specialises in the production of premium cooked consumer foods and have grown considerably in the past few years to be Ireland’s brand leaders of the cooked food market.

These two awards winners now hold precedence of how entrepreneurial innovation can overcome these recessionary times and how young people from Mullingar and the midlands can break into competitive markets and succeed.
