Golf Classic success show Chamber to be a real ‘Driving Force’ in Business Community.
The great and the good were all out in numbers from the world of corporate, retail, legal and recreation to battle it out on the greens of Mullingar Gold Club last Monday.
“Thirty teams entered the Garda Chamber Cup Golf Classic. That is one hundred and twenty people from the business community in Mullingar having a brilliant opportunity to meet each other in a social setting and get in a round of golf. We were blessed with a beautiful autumn day, Mullingar Golf Club is spectacular and everyone had a great time out there.
Congratulations to Midlands 103, whose team captured the top spot and Mullingar Credit Union and Mullingar Golf Club who took the second and third place,” said Ian Gavin Mullingar Chamber President.
Par for the course was good humour and friendly banter but in the hearts of teams playing they knew it was a serious affair really.
“Everyone wants to know how they did compare to everyone else. That’s what is so great about Golf, you are playing against the par but you are also out there, on days like the Garda Chamber Cup Golf Classic when you are playing against your friends and colleagues, that of course will create friendly rivalry and up your game.
“The great weather and great company produced great golf- all in all it was a Great Day out. Thanks to all our teams, our supporters, our sponsors and the Bank of Ireland who were the main event sponsor. The presentations were held in the Annebrook House Hotel on Monday night following the game and it was the perfect 19th hole. I know people were already saying to Angie, make sure and put us down for 2015.”
