Medium Sized Town Fairly Big Story — Book Launch

Gill & Macmillan, Ronan Casey, Just Books and the Greville Arms Hotel warmly invite you to the launch of ‘Medium Sized Town, Fairly Big Story’, the new book by Westmeath author, broadcaster and journalist Ronan Casey.

The launch takes place at the Greville Arms Hotel, Mullingar on Thursday next, November 20th at 7pm.

Launching the book on the night will be TV and Radio personality Hector Ó’hEochagáin. There will be a host of special guests, music and craic upstairs in the Greville.  It should be a great night!

The Book:

Medium-Sized Town, Fairly Big Story is packed full of unique stories from towns and villages the length and breadth of the country which somehow make the headlines in local newspapers… and nowhere else. Many of the stories had been broadcast on the author’s weekly ‘Medium-Sized Town, Fairly Big Story’ slot on RTÉ 2FM’s ‘Breakfast with Hector’ show, and are now featured every Friday morning on his Ireland AM slot on TV3. The book features an intro from Hector and contributions from Niall Breslin, Gerry Duffy and Foster & Allen. This is the perfect gift book for anyone with a sense of humour and a taste for the absurd.

Examples of stories:Medium_Size_Town

  • The dogs in Mountmellick forced to wear nappies
  • The Kerry boat builder who travelled 23 minutes back in time
  • The pub thieves who escaped through Limerick prison
  • The Corkman whose most treasured possession is his bucket from the Pope’s 1979 visit.
