Guidelines for Applicants

Westmeath County Council recognises the contribution that Festivals and Events make to the lives of the people of the county and the economic benefits in terms of increased activity. In recognition of these benefits and the extent of the voluntary effort involved in their organisation of festivals and events, the Council has put a support fund in place for 2015.

What is the purpose of the Scheme?
The purpose of the scheme is to encourage and promote local events that might otherwise not take place and which are largely organised by local voluntary groups. The scheme is not intended to support festivals that are fund raising by nature or events that are self financing and well established.

Who should apply?
Any group, properly constituted, who intend holding a specific festival or event in the county during 2015.

How will my application be assessed?
Your application will be assessed based only on the information provided on or with the application form. You are encouraged to include documentation with your application to support any information given.

Where do I send the completed application?
Please send completed application forms to:

Festival and Event Support Fund 2015,
Community Development Section,
Westmeath County Council,
Aras and Chontae,
County Westmeath.

You may also submit a scanned version of the application by email but it must be signed by an appropriate officer in your Group. The email address is community@westmeathcoco.ie.
