Innovation for Growth was the Theme at the National Life Sciences & Engineering Expo

The National Life Sciences & Engineering Expo returned for the fourth year running at the Mullingar Park Hotel on 28th & 29th June. This highly successful annual event, brought together industry leading speakers, over 80 local and multinational exhibitors, hundreds of industry professionals, and offered unbeatable networking opportunities all under one roof.

Run by the Mullingar Chamber this innovation focused event, showcased Irish manufacturing excellence offered attendees the opportunity to see cutting-edge technologies and products.

Visitors to the event gained valuable industry insights from industry leading speakers including Julie Sinnamon, CEO Enterprise Ireland, Prof. Fergal J. O’ Brien, Chair Bioengineering & Regenerative Medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland, John O’ Dea, Global Director of Oesophageal Diseases at Medtronic and Jim Kelly, Innovation Director at Irish Manufacturing Research. Visitors to the Expo on the Friday morning also enjoyed a thought provoking and motivational session with Gerry Duffy.

The emphasis of the event is on sharing ideas, expert collaboration, exploring innovation led growth opportunities, and establishing successful trading relationships. A new addition to this year’s event was the ExpoBrew where Mullingar Town Centre was showcased to close to 100 visitors. This night time networking session included an informal speaker panel hosted in association with Irish Manufacturing Research and visitors gained a valuable inside from the expert panel on “Trade after Brexit”.

The Local Enterprise Offices of Westmeath, Longford, Offaly, and Laois showcased The Engenuity Cluster at this year’s Expo. This cluster includes fourteen companies from The Engenuity Midlands Innovation Programme who will exhibit their respective engineering companies as they continue to grow their products and services.
