Westmeath County Council is developing a new Local Authority Climate Action Plan (LACAP), to be completed by February 2024. The LACAP will outline a pathway for County Westmeath to achieve a 51% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, in line with the national target, though identified mitigation measures. The LACAP will also include adaptation measures that will seek to reduce the risks posed by climate change.
