Part of the organising committee, Shirley Kiernan, spoke about the success to date of the Midlands Career Expo: “We are now in our third year, and the event continues to grow. Last year, the Midlands Career Expo had over 50 companies exhibiting from across the Midlands and attracted over 2,500 job seekers. This year, we expect an even greater turnout. The expo featured high-profile Irish Scientist-Astronaut Dr. Norah Patten as the keynote speaker last year, drawing significant attention and highlighting the event’s importance. This year, we aim to build on that success, offering even more opportunities for attendees to connect with leading employers and advance their careers.”

The Midlands region, encompassing Westmeath, Offaly, Laois and Longford, offers a unique blend of career opportunities and quality of life. With a rich industrial history and a burgeoning tech sector, the Midlands is becoming an increasingly attractive destination for professionals seeking to advance their careers while enjoying a balanced lifestyle. The expo will highlight why working in the Midlands is an excellent choice, emphasizing the region’s strong community, affordable living, and access to top-tier education and healthcare.

Aisling Nolan, Chief People & Information Officer with Mergon is attending again this year, for the third year running and described the benefits of attending.

“We had a fantastic experience at last year’s Midlands Career Expo. The event provided us with the opportunity to connect with a diverse pool of talented candidates in a single day. We were able to showcase our company and discuss our current job openings in detail. The career expo was an invaluable resource for our recruitment efforts, and we look forward to participating in this year’s event”.

The Midlands Career Expo continues to be a vital event for job seekers and employers alike, fostering connections and supporting career development across the region. Don’t miss this opportunity to advance your career and network with top industry professionals.

Job seekers will have the opportunity to engage with industry leaders, participate in workshops, and gain valuable insights into various career paths.
