We are are delighted to announce the first public speaker at the MidlandsCareerExpo 2024 taking place this September 14th at the Mulingar Park Hotel.

Shane O’Reilly from KPMG Sustainable Futures will discuss the emerging career opportunities within a sustainable economy, focusing on both new roles and the necessity of upskilling the workforce to meet the challenges of achieving carbon neutrality. Drawing from his experience working with Ireland’s leading companies, Shane will highlight key projects that are shaping our future, along with the skills and people needed to make these initiatives successful.

We are also delighted to welcome Paul Mahon CEO and Co-Founder of WATT Footprint to act as MC for the Sustainability talk.

Shane is Managing Director at KPMG Sustainable Futures. He has 20+ years’ experience of the global construction materials market in operations, investor relations and ESG group management. He works across multiple sectors developing ESG strategies, due diligence, target setting and decarbonisation. He is an outgoing chair of the CDP Ireland Network, a committee of sustainability professionals from across Irish industry and semi-state organisations. He is currently a Non-Executive Director of ECO UNESCO, Ireland’s Environmental Education and Youth Organisation that works to conserve the environment and empower young people.
