Shopfront Enhancement Grant Scheme 2025:
Westmeath County Council has launched the 2025 Shopfront Enhancement Grant Scheme, providing a total fun of €100,000 to support local businesses in upgrading and improving their shopfronts. This initiative aims to enhance the visual appeal of streetscapes across towns and villages in County Westmeath, encouraging economic activity and maintaining the heritage of commercial areas. Eligible businesses can receive funding covering up to 75% of their project costs with a maximum grant of €4,500 for individual applications. Groups of three or more adjoining businesses working on coordinated improvements can apply for a higher grant of up to €6,000.
Accessibility Grant:
In addition to shopfront improvements, the scheme offers an Accessibility Grant to support businesses in making their premises more inclusive for elderly individuals and people with disabilities. This funding provides up to €6,000 to assist with modification such as improved entrances, ramps, handrails, and other accessibility features. The grant is part of a broader effort to create a welcoming and accessible environment for all customers and visitors in County Westmeath.
