This is a part time position with working approx. 25 – 35 hours per week shifts raging 4-6hours per potential to turn full time during summer months Duties and Responsibilities · Welcoming customers, making recommendations, taking food, and drink orders. · Provide professional, responsive and friendly beverage & food service to guests · Demonstrate complete and accurate knowledge of the full menu, wine and drink list, dessert menu and specials · Be attentive to customer’s needs · Spot opportunities to offer suggestions for beverages, refill empty glasses and up-sell to increase sales · Use good judgment and discretion when serving alcohol · Recommend wines to accompany menu items · Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages. · Ensuring the bar and service areas are adequately stocked at all times. · Making sure you maintain a clean working environment by getting rid of rubbish, cleaning tables, and washing utensils, glasses, and other equipment. · Handling cash and card transactions. Requirements · Attention to detail. · Outstanding interpersonal skills · The ability to work under pressure. Additional skills · Greeting customers and saying farewell is essential. The bar’s clientele must always feel welcome. Remember, they have plenty of alternative options! · It is essential to have initiative, the ability to think on your feet and understand the value of hard work. · Your observational skills are important.
