With the completion of our Design & Innovation Centre at our HQ offices in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Design Engineer to join our growing Design team. Job Description: As a Design Engineer, you will work closely with our high-profile client base to design fire protection sprinkler systems. You will produce CAD drawings for Electrical and Mechanical installation work and ensure that standards are adhered to and that drawings produced are of the highest quality, all in accordance with Q.A. procedures. You will create Hydraulic Calculations using industry-approved software, plan project programs/scheduling, and prepare submittals. You will work closely with the Operations and Installation teams to communicate, problem solve and update drawings for all coordination and design issues. Responsibilities: • Design fire protection sprinkler systems for high-profile clients. • Produce CAD drawings for Electrical and Mechanical installation work. • Ensure that standards are adhered to and that drawings produced are of highest quality, all in accordance with Q.A. procedures. • Creating Hydraulic Calculations using industry approved software. • Planning project programs/scheduling. • Preparing submittals. • Work closely with the Operations and Installation teams to communicate, problem solve and update drawings for all co-ordination and design issues. Ideal Candidate: • At least 2 years of experience as a Design Engineer in Fire Sprinkler industry. • Dedicated and hardworking. • Organised and accurate. • Enjoys a busy environment. • Enjoys working with CAD packages. • Enjoys working on his/her own initiative. • Fluent in English is a requirement for this role. • Previous experience in 3D Design software highly desirable. Requirements: · Relevant third-level qualification (eg: Mechanical / Electrical Engineering) · Strong analytical and technical skills. · Must complete hydraulic calculations software training course. · LPCB exams will be optional but will be required to attain senior designer status. · Ability to work under pressure, to project deadlines, while maintaining adherence to process disciplines. · Sound working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite. · Must be eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland. · Ability to commute/relocate Mullingar Business Park, Mullingar, CO.
