Mullingar Chamber Awards 2023: Celebrating Excellence and Community Impact

Mullingar Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce the return of the much-anticipated Mullingar Chamber  Awards 2023, set to take place at the Mullingar Park Hotel Mullingar on Friday, November 3rd. This event promises an evening of celebration and recognition, where local businesses, community leaders, and distinguished guests will gather at a Gala dinner (Dress Code Formal).

The Mullingar Chamber Awards provide a platform for local businesses to attain well-deserved recognition for their work and significant contributions to their respective industries. These awards reflect the spirit of dedication, innovation, and commitment that local businesses bring to the community, further contributing to Mullingar’s economic development.

Nominations for the awards are Closed and the shortlist is available here. These awards are inclusive and welcome participants from various sectors, regardless of their membership or non-membership status within the chamber. The judging panel, committed to upholding the competition’s integrity, ensures a fair and impartial evaluation process.

The Mullingar Chamber Awards 2023 encompass a diverse range of categories, each highlighting a unique facet of excellence within our community:

  • 7.30pm – Guests Move to Dining Area

  • 8.00pm – Dinner  Served

  • 9.30pm – Announcement and Presentation of Awards. 

  • 10.30pm – Live Entertainment until late

Our Master of Ceremonies.

Shane Barkey is a Director and Presenter of The Westmeath Bachelor Competition, Ireland’s newest up and coming entertainment event with judges Louis Walsh, Pippa O’Connor, Anne Doyle and Brian Ormond. The show recently completed its hugely successful second year with plans now in motion to get the show televised in the next two years.

 

Shane is an experienced emcee and a well-known personality in the Midlands and is an aspiring television presenter who is currently a radio broadcaster for Midlands 103 and rapidly becoming a rising star on TikTok thanks to his comedy sketches namely his now viral ‘Fleadh Fleadh Fleadh’ videos.

 

Shane is the owner of his own multimedia company ‘SB Media’ which specialises in live entertainment.

 

Shane was the youngest person ever to be nominated for ‘Person of the Year’ at the Westmeath County Council Cathaoirleach Awards in 2018 for his commitment and contribution to the community.

James Kiernan - Chambers Ireland

Joan Mulvihill - Siemens

Will Faulkner is Managing Director of Midlands 103, the local radio station serving Laois, Offaly and Westmeath. He is known to 80,000 daily listeners as voice of the popular “Midlands Today Show”, named Ireland’s Current Affairs Show of the Year at the IMRO Radio Awards. He has worked in broadcasting for over 20 years and also serves as a director of Independent Radio Sales Limited in Dublin

Kate is an experienced sales and media specialist with career spanning local radio, local print, regional radio and digital advertising with over 16 years of radio experience. She is a keen B2B networkers and was Dublin Branch President of Network Ireland in 2013. Kate also sites on the Board of SarahJenniferKnott foundation which raises awareness for Cancer of Unknown Primary, CUP.

James Kiernan is responsible for commercial and Chamber development in Chambers Ireland. His main task is in the support of the Chamber network of 39 Chambers and for coordinating the commercial activities of the national Chamber. James holds a degree in Management and Marketing and recently completed an MBA where he presented a dissertation on engaging sustainability for competitive advantage. 

Joan is the Digitalisation /Sustainability Lead at Siemens. Experienced CEO and Senior Manager with breadth of business experience across the gamut of industry sectors – ICT, FMCG retail, manufacturing, professional services and not-for-profit. A confident and compelling leader and communicator with exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills.
